Welcome Chelsi Stratton to this week's blockhead series!
This is Chelsi's first year to participate in the Blockheads series and she told us she is having a wonderful time! Chelsi also added, "Two highlights have been making the beautiful blocks and learning more about my fellow designers! Having a weekly sewalong is a great way to stay organized and goal oriented. The block heads community is lovely and creative! "
Chelsi Straton is one part of the design team, Sherri and Chelsi. Chelsiis marrid and has 3 kids, 2 daughters Ashton and Harper anda son, Finn. Chelsi has loved art and all the fun supplies that go with that her entire lifeand her mother tells stores of having to repaint the bedroom walls often since Chelsi's art was everywhere. She didnt think she would be a quilter and would leave that to her mother, but when the quilting bug bit, it bit hard and Chelsi was hooked. She not only designs fabric but also has her own pattern company, Chesli Stratton Designs. Chelsi's designs have also been published in various national magazines and she has her first book out, more on that below.
My block is Autumnal and gives off such sweet simplicity! Make it scrappy or opt for a couple different colorways like I did! I loved showing off two color options for my block! One used a bright white background and bright reds from out Emma collection ( in stores this summer) while the other presents a dark green background with a low volume as the leaf! Both are great ways to highlight prints and colors! Also, I am sticking to the 9" finished block size for all of my blocks!- Chelsi
What a wonderful difference between the 2 blocks, one with a light background and one with a light leaf.
Hop on over to Chelsi's blog to learn more about her and the making of the block.
