Blockheads ~ Block 42
Blockheads ~ Block 42
Coming and going. Is that how you feel right now? So many things to do... not nearly enough time to do everything you think you should get done... and all you really want to do is curl up in front of a warm sewing machine. (Or maybe that's just me.)
This week's block is Turnstile... aka "coming and going". The beautiful block above is Jan Patek's - it's made with her beautiful Coral Bells collection. Jan has been having a few computer issues this week so she sent me a picture of her block "just in case" they're not resolved by today.
This is Tammy's block - the prints are from Jo Morton's Timeless and the background is from a 3 Sisters collection. Because she loves tiny piecing, and because she had a few leftover pieces...
How perfect is the mini? It's tiny - 3-1/2" x 3-1/2". And it's adorable.

For the blue Reproduction block, the dark blue print is from Alice's Scrapbag by Barbara Brackman and the light blue and background are from Snowberry by 3 Sisters.
For the Figgy block, I had a hard time following the directions. (After forty-two weeks, I'm sure you're not surprised by that.)
I substituted half-triangle squares for the flying geese - they finish at 1-1/2" x 1-1/2". (Cut the squares at 2-3/8" x 2-3/8". Or cut them a skosh bigger and trim them to measure 2" x 2" after piecing.)
Question of the Week ~ How many quilts-projects did you make this year? How many were for "work"? How many were "just for fun"?
At least sixteen.
Everything shown here was for the Cake Mixes and Cupcakes - I kept getting these ideas. There were also several bags, pillows, quilts and other things but I seem to lose count of what they were. Or can't show you some of what I've finished. Do pincushions count? I made a few of those.
While I can and do use most of what I make/sew for work, many of the projects are also "just for fun" too.
Oops. I answered next week's question... I'll answer this one next week. Coming and going... it appears to be a theme for me this week.
