We are so excited to introduce you to our next Featured Quilt Shop, Quilt-N-Bee!

Tell us a little about your shop and how it got started!

Quilt-n-Bee is owned and operated by a mother-daughter team and has been serving the Traverse City, MI, area since 2003.

The idea for our quilt shop was born of our passion for the creative process, along with a desire to share our talents with others.

We're more than just a business. Quilt-n-Bee has established a loyal community of friends, as well as a gathering place where camaraderie is enjoyed by all! Our goal is to inspire a love of sewing and quilting in others and teach them how to improve their skills and expand their creative options. We offer a wide variety of classes for quilting enthusiasts of all ages, ranging from our summer kids camp, to our "Learn to Quilt" series.

Whether you drop by our storefront, or shop with us online, you’ll find high quality quilting products, a friendly atmosphere and attentive personalized service!

Our shop opened in June, 2003. We purchased inventory from the previous shop owner which consisted of perhaps 200 bolts of fabric.  We currently have ten times that inventory and so much more.  Moda became our number one choice for fabric selection, we are truly a Moda store.  Garment sewing, doll clothes, wool projects, even a few knitting and cross stitch samples make us a true "creative center".

What's currently happening in your shop?

Currently we are hosting a mystery block of the month and the "Blessings of Summer" block of the month.  Monthly we have, Bee Creative, a lecture/demo program which usually entertains 50 ladies.  Last month we introduced Bee University where we explore the basics of the creative world from choosing the correct interfacing for a project to knowing what needle to use with what thread.  We have a yearly shop hop, customer appreciation picnic, Christmas open house and sample sale.

What makes your shop unique?

Because of our Bee Creative class, we have 8 to 10 new samples in the shop each month.

We offer private classes for those who would like a one on one teaching situation.

What do your customers love most about your shop?

They love the samples and great customer service. Our customers have become our friends!

They also love the diversity of what we have to offer, from Moda to wool.  From purses to hair bows.
